Broncos are balling out in key area despite rough start to season

The Denver Broncos may be struggling on the season, even at 2-1, but they are still in elite company.
The offense has been going through the motions, to say the least. Yes, even with all the weapons they have in Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Javonte Williams, and Melvin Gordon surrounding one of the best quarterbacks in the league, they still are having issues on that side of the ball.
Is it Russell Wilson? No, not really. I mean, yes, he could be better at some things, but it's not completely him. Is it the receivers? Not 100%, but they have dropped a ton of catches so far this year. If you guessed coaching then you would be right, it is the main source of the struggles.
Nathaniel Hackett seems to be a great coach, and the team looks to be behind him. But the offense just isn't there yet.
Now, the defense. They are legit. I think we have all seen enough now to know that.
Broncos defense in elite company with recent stat
The Denver Broncos are really in good company when it comes to team defenses. When you look at this stat, you can tell that the Broncos have one of the best defenses in the league, because the other teams there are one of the best as well.
The Broncos are one of only four teams to not allow 20 points scored in a game this year. That's right, them, the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the San Francisco 49ers are all on the list, and are all elite defenses.
In Week 1, the Broncos allowed the Seattle Seahawks to score 17 points. In Week 2, they allowed the Houston Texans to score nine points, and in Week 3 they allowed the 49ers to score 10 points.
If you have watched the other teams on this list, which you have in the 49ers because the Broncos beat them, then you can see that all of these defenses are elite.
The Buccaneers are also struggling on offense a bit this year, and their defense has been able to win them games, a very similar instance to that of the Broncos and Cowboys, who don't have Dak Prescott anymore.
The Cowboys have Micah Parsons, who is showing that he may be the best defensive player in the NFL or at least top-three. The 49ers are using the pass rush of Nick Bosa to create chaos.
As for the Broncos, they don't have just one big named dude who can go and wreck a game like that. They are doing it with everyone, even guys the casual fan has never heard of.
So if there is one thing to be proud of, I'd say the defense is a pretty big bright spot. They are taking over games, and are carrying this team. When the offense starts showing out, this is going to be one of the toughest teams to beat in the NFL.
