The New Orleans Saints got one of the biggest wins of the season in Week 15. Why is that, well, there are a few reasons.
The Falcons and Saints hate each other, and I think we all know that. There is no love lost between the two. In fact, these two teams may hate each other more than any other in the division.
So, on Sunday we knew it would be a battle, and it was.
The Saints won 21-18 and placed themselves just a game back of the first-place spot in the NFC South after a Buccaneers loss. Not only that, but the Saints swept the division series between them and Atlanta.
This win was huge, and the players know it too. In fact, receiver Juwan Johnson had a perfect quote that sums up everything perfectly. I think fans will love what he had to say too.
"Knowing that there is that rivalry, knowing that there is hatred there, knowing that we have two up on them this year, that's kind of what we wanted to do, to put that stamp on it that we're big brothers & that's how we feel about it," Johnson said after the win.
I'm sure that is how every Saints fan feels too. The Falcons are the little brothers, and they always will be. I mean, New Orleans has been dominating that matchup for how long now?
This win was huge, and Saints fans should celebrate it, as their chances at making the playoffs are still alive.
