The New Orleans Saints have dealt with more troubles than almost any team this season. They have dealt with a few different things, but mainly injuries.
There was a point during the season when the Saints had the most injuries in the league, and nearly all of them were guys that played valuable snaps.
Having as many injuries as they have has forced the Saints to play guys they don't usually play. So, it really has set them back a bit. However, at the same time, it has made the guys that needed to step up, become better players.
One of those guys is rookie wide receiver Chris Olave, who has really come into his own.
"I feel like I had to step up a lot and try to step into the roles," Olave said. "Having them out, I mean, we can't fill that.
"But, I have tried my best to be able to step up to that role and get some wins for this team. I feel like that is my job to do. So I just wanted to win and provide what I can for the team and be on my best playing my role."
Olave may win Rookie of the Year, and if he doesn't, he definitely has a chance to win Offensive Rookie of the Year based on how he has performed so far.
At the start of the year, it was pretty well known Olave would be a second or third option behind Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry. Now, because of injuries, it has completely flipped.
Injuries have completely derailed this team, but in a way, it has helped develop some of the young guys who were ready for their time to shine.
For Olave, it was almost like he was already prepared.
