The Las Vegas Raiders have some of the best weapons in the league, or at least we thought they did this off-season when they acquired Davante Adams.

I mean, Adams, Jacobs, Waller, and Renfrow seem like it could be the perfect offense. But, so far this year we have seen something that has looked really good, then other times it has looked really bad.

It's a collective effort, too. I mean, sure, it's a completely new offense, and Derek Carr has had some bad games, but it takes everyone, and we just haven't seen that consistently.

“I think each game is unique and you look back on each one and say, what did we do differently in terms of executing our job," offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi said. "You look at a couple of games, last week was penalties, this week was turnovers. So, again, what is it per week, it's a little something different."

And Lombardi is certainly right. They have to get out of this thing where they constantly hurt themselves. It's the penalties, not running the right route, not blocking, and all of the small things, too.

That is the biggest reason this team is 6-9 and just lost to a bad Pittsburgh Steelers team. That is why this team needs a miracle to get into the playoffs, once again.

They need to beat a very good San Francisco team and then go and beat a very good Kansas City Chiefs team. But if they keep playing like this, they won't.

"I think the biggest thing for us, as a unit for getting ready for a really good team in San Francisco, we just got to go out there and have a really consistent three days of practice," Lombardi continued. "Know the opponent, make sure we understand who they are and how they play. Because this team were about to plays is very fast, they're well coached, and this is very good defense. This is probably the best defense we've played all season. So, in terms of getting prepared ready to go, that falls into preparation, and I think is really how to answer your question."

The Raiders can very well beat both of those teams if they play to their full potential. But, we all know that is a very big if.

Then again, they were in a very similar predicament last season, and somehow they prevailed.

If they want any shot at the playoffs at all, it starts with the offense. We know the defense is going to be bad, but we expect that based on the roster. The offense, they have higher expectations.

The offense has to come through this Sunday.
