The Buffalo Bills signed OLB Von Miller to a six-year deal worth $120 million this offseason, but the two-time Super Bowl champion continues to prove that his worth is unquantifiable.
Sure, the Bills paid for the production. His four sacks are tied for 10th in the NFL, but his championship DNA is invaluable.
Bills TE Quintin Morris, who went undrafted in 2021, fumbled at the goal line in the team’s Week 5 blowout of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Playing in just his fourth game in the NFL, Morris put the ball on the ground following his fifth career catch as time ticked down in the third quarter.
With the score at 31-3, most of the starters had been pulled from the game. But, instead of disengaging from one of the least competitive games the Bills will play all season, Miller picked his teammate up after the turnover.
When Morris reached the sideline, Miller sought out the 23-year-old tight end.
“You never lose, you just learn, my boy. You know what I’m saying? Wisdom is built off failure. Next time, you got it,” said Miller in an attempt to lift Morris’ spirits.
The full exchange can be found below.
Morris took to Twitter to express his gratitude for Miller's teaching moment.
Miller is an eight-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, two-time Super Bowl champ, Super Bowl MVP, and a sure-fire Hall of Famer. Yet, he made it a point to offer words of advice to Morris, who is working his way up the depth chart in just his second year as a pro.
The Bills are already seeing a massive return on their lucrative investment, but, when it comes to all of the intangibles that Miller also brings to the table, it’s easy to realize that he’s truly priceless.
