The New Orleans Saints got a victory in Week 15 that they absolutely had to have.

They beat the Atlanta Falcons in another tight game. Every win feels nice for the Saints, but wins against the rival Falcons always hits a little different – it seems. This win is one for the history books, though.

The victory officially gave the Saints the regular season series lead over Atlanta.

So, for now, the Saints can point and laugh at the Falcons for another reason.

The game wasn't an easy win by any means, though. Just like the earlier matchup this season, the Falcons battled. This time, New Orleans got an early lead. The offense looked strong, especially in the first half.

Once again, the production declined in the middle two quarters a bit. There was certainly some questionable play calls as well, but the Saints did just enough to squeak out the divisional win at home.

In the end, the defense got the turnover they have seemingly been missing all year long to seal a game late.

They'll need to clean up the mistakes if they want to get back into the playoff race. The Saints entered today's game with a less than 2% chance to make the postseason.

That being said, wins will keep them in potential contention for a playoff spot.
