The Philadelphia Eagles are rewriting preseason narratives after starting 5-0 for just the third time in franchise history while QB Jalen Hurts is rewriting NFL history in the process.
Hurts scored the 19th rushing touchdown of his career (24 starts) in Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. With the score, Hurts passed Cam Newton with the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback through his first 25 starts.
Hurts completed 26 of his 36 passes for 239 yards, tacking on 61 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
Hurts’ name now stands above some of the game’s most exciting playmakers at the quarterback position such as Michael Vick, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Newton.
With the way the Eagles’ offense is humming this likely won’t be the last record we see fall this season.
