The LSU Tigers fired basketball coach Will Wade on Saturday, just a day after losing to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament in Tampa.

It felt like it was always going to come to this. Wade was lucky to keep his job this long, after getting caught on a wiretap saying he had made a "strong ass offer" to a recruit. Wade was suspended at the time but managed to keep his job.

Earlier this week, the NCAA finally gave LSU an official notice of allegations. That notice of allegations is what ultimately cost Wade his job. He will not receive any of his buyout.

With Wade out, where do the Tigers turn?

Here are five quick options that LSU could consider.

Buzz Williams — Texas A&M Head Coach

Williams was hired by Scott Woodward at Texas A&M, so this is a natural fit. Williams is a Texas native, so this could be a tough pull. It's worth noting that Williams has some experience in Louisiana, as he was the head coach at New Orleans in 2006-07.

Ed Cooley — Providence Head Coach

Cooley was just named the Big East coach of the year and he has Providence at 25-5 and No. 11 in the nation. He hasn't had great success in the NCAA Tournament, but he's a solid coach who could do well in Baton Rouge.

Matt McMahon — Murray State Head Coach

McMahon has Murray state at 30-2 and he landed Ja Morant a couple of years ago. What's not to like about that sentence? McMahon is considered a rising star in college basketball and he has some SEC experience via his two years at Tennessee as a grad assistant.

Kim English — George Mason

English is a former Missouri basketball player who spent a couple of seasons on Rick Barnes' staff at Tennessee. He's also a former NBA player. English is 14-14 in his first season at George Mason. He's a great recruiter, which is something LSU will need with an NCAA cloud hanging over the program.

Andy Kennedy — UAB

I'm sure Kennedy, who spent 12 seasons at Ole Miss, would love another shot in the SEC. Kennedy has an SEC Tournament title on his resumé. And he had nine winning seasons at Ole Miss. This wouldn't be a flashy hire, but it would be a safe hire.
