The NFL trade deadline is less than two weeks away (November 1) and one national media outlet thinks there's a move the Cincinnati Bengals could make.

Jay Morrison, a Bengals beat writer for The Athletic, thinks Cincinnati could trade offensive lineman Jackson Carman if another team shows interest.

Carman, a former Clemson Tigers standout, was selected by the Bengals in the second round (No. 46 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

From The Athletic:

The 2021 second-round pick went into OTAs in 2021 and 2022 with starting jobs that were his to lose, and both times he lost them, with rookie fourth-round pick Cordell Volson unseating him this season. The only reason Jackson is still in the building is because the organization is saving face after reaching for the Cincinnati native with the 46th pick. Carman has fallen behind Sept. 2 waiver claim Max Scharping and has been a healthy scratch the past three weeks. If another team is desperate for O-line help, the Bengals would be wise to take whatever offer they get.

The Bengals don't want to release Carman less than two years after using a second-round pick on him. But even if they trade him for a late-round pick, it's going to be a tough look for Cincy.

At this point, Carman isn't even a good depth option. So I don't think the Bengals should be too worried about perception. They just need to find a way to clear his salary and make a clean break.

And speaking of perception, this botched draft pick doesn't even come close to the Tennessee Titans' selection of Isaiah Wilson in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Wilson, a former Georgia offensive lineman, only played one game for the Titans after a series of off-the-field issues.

Misses happen in the draft — quite often, actually. The Bengals have no reason to be embarrassed if they move on from Carman while receiving very little in return.
