Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is crossing T’s and doting I’s as the season-opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is only two days away. Fortunately, health is very much on the Bengals’ side.

One day after cornerback DJ Turner II was listed with a hamstring on the injury report, Turner participated in Friday’s practice and is “good to go” according to Taylor.

DJ Turner II’s hamstring injury update is a positive one

This was the only new concern for Cincinnati entering the weekend. Turner had stayed healthy throughout the entirety of the offseason and training camp. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and Taylor has a history of being very cautious with them regarding his players.

Turner was officially limited Thursday. Oftentimes this indicates a new injury has been suffered mid-practice, and the player misses a certain period of time.

That Turner returned to practice the next day was a huge positive. It seems like he got through the session without any setbacks.

Other injury updates

Cincinnati will have its full secondary and wide receiver corps as well for Sunday’s game as Taylor also announced Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are good to play. Chase, who suffered a hyperextended knee two weeks ago, did not practice for at least the beginning portion of the day. Higgins has been a full participant this week despite suffering a heel contusion sometime within the last two weeks.

Defensive end Shemar Stewart is the only player who is unlikely to play. Taylor called Stewart “doubtful” Friday. The 22-year-old returned to practice late last week after missing a month with a hyperextended knee. He was a full participant Wednesday, and went limited Thursday.
