The Tennessee Titans and their fans loved Brett Kern.
Most teams don't have strong feelings about a punter. The Titans were quite the opposite with Kern.
For most of his career in Tennessee, he was absolutely a fan favorite. Both on and off the field, their former punter was a stand-up player and person.
Now, his replacement, Ryan Stonehouse, is impressing the Titans' fanbase as well as Kern.
Stonehouse has been a revelation for the Titans so far this season.
Through seven games, he had the highest average yardage per punt at 54 yards. He was top ten in regards to punts dropped inside the twenty.
Those are Kern-type numbers for the Titans' new punter.
Kern spent thirteen seasons with the Titans. It makes sense why he has such a connection with the fan base.
He punted the football 923 times for 42,333 yards in his time in Tennessee.
Stonehouse has quite the boot, and Kern even gave him a nod while mentioning his retirement on Twitter.
The Titans have a new punter, and he is elite. He's getting plenty of love from their fans already.
Fans will never forget the amazing production that their previous punter gave them, though.
Kern has a special place in Titans' franchise lore.
