The Tennessee Titans have had an inconsistency over the past few seasons on defense. Their pass-rush comes and goes.
They are middle-of-the-pack in the league when it comes to sacks and pressures. Today, the Titans' defensive line got consistent pressure on Colts' QB Matt Ryan.
In the second half, the pressure made a massive difference as Tennessee got a necessary divisional win. Ryan was not given time to push the ball down the field very often in the most important moments of the game.
Bud Dupree had one of his best games with the Titans so far.
Denico Autry continued to be one of the most underrated defensive linemen in the NFL. Both Dupree and Autry had a sack for the Titans.
You can never forget about Jeffery Simmons either. The Titans' star defensive lineman got a sack and recorded six tackles on the day. He seemed to suffer some sort of injury in the second half, though, so keep an eye on that.
Overall, it was a strong day for the entire Titans' defense.
Defensive back Andrew Adams had a career day. Amani Hooker and David Long Jr. were all over the field all day long to bring down Colts' players.
The pass rush needs to continue to make plays in order for the Titans to stay competitive in the AFC. In their wins this year, the defensive line has played their best.
That's no coincidence.
On a day where their offense did not execute as well as they would've liked, the defense brought it home for the Titans. They hold sole possession of first place in the AFC South.
