2023 four-star tight end Ethan Davis committed to the Tennessee Vols back in December over offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, and Penn State, among many others.
Davis, 6-foot-4/215 lbs from Suwanee, GA (Collins Hill), is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 7 tight end in the nation and the No. 11 player in the state of Georgia.
The talented recruit recently spoke to VolQuest about his recruitment. And he made it quite clear that he's locked in on the Vols and doesn't plan to look at any other programs before signing next winter.
"I’m locked in. There’s no going to see anybody else," said Davis.
One of the reasons that Davis is so locked in is because of the incredible atmosphere at Tennessee. He doesn't think there's an atmosphere at another program that compares to what the Vols have in Knoxville.
"I tell them all (other recruits), there’s no place like Tennessee. I’m sure they know that,” said Davis to VolQuest.
“Some were telling me of some other places they’ve already been and I just tell them that this is the best it’s going to get," added Davis. "All the other schools are cool, but they are nothing like Tennessee."
That's a major statement coming from Davis — this is a recruit who has also taken visits to Clemson, Ole Miss, and Georgia.
The Vols have a Georgia native — a kid who lives one hour from the University of Georgia in Athens — saying Tennessee has the best atmosphere/vibe in college football.
A four-star recruit from Georgia saying "There's no place like Tennessee" is something that UT needs to make sure every recruit in the southeast hears.
The coaching staff, the fans, the current team, the game-day vibe — that's all part of the atmosphere that Davis is talking about.
Tennessee is making an impact on recruits. It feels like it's just a matter of time before UT recruiting explodes.
