5-star QB comments on Tennessee Vols fan base

Fortunately for the Volunteers, that's not an opinion that's shared by players/recruits.
Recruits and players love the passion of the UT fan base. It's one of the things that stands out about Tennessee.
And it's one of the reasons that five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava is strongly considering the Vols.
Iamaleava told Rivals.com this week that he loves all the support he's received from Tennessee's "crazy" fan base.
Trashing Tennessee fans has become something of a ritual for national media outlets. The Vol fan base doesn't receive the same treatment as other fan bases. When Tennessee fans throw objects on the field, there's a litany of columns that are written.
But when that happens at other events, there's mostly silence.
(Remember in the NFL playoffs when Dallas Cowboys fans were throwing things at the referees — there wasn't the same outrage as when it happened during the Tennessee/Ole Miss game last fall.)
I continue to maintain that Tennessee's wild fan base is one of the biggest assets this program has. Don't worry about what national reporters say — they aren't the ones the Vols need to impress.
