Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Cade Mays hasn't officially announced if he's returning to UT for his final season of eligibility, but it strongly appears that he won't be.

Mays essentially took a step toward the NFL this week by committing to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl is a post-season game that gives draft-eligible players — including underclassmen — a chance to showcase their skills in the hopes of improving their draft stock.

At this point, this doesn't 100 percent mean that Mays won't be back at Tennessee. But the chances of him returning are slim at best.

Last week, during an appearance on "Tennessee Prime", Mays said he was 50/50 on returning to the Vols. He also mentioned that he would need an NIL deal worth "third or fourth round" money to stay another year at Tennessee (that would be around $750,000).

It's unclear whether or not Mays plans to play in the Vols' Music City Bowl matchup against Purdue on December 30.
