The Philadelphia Eagles (6-0) spent their Week 7 bye getting some much-needed rest and recovery after their undefeated start to the season.

The week off allowed the opportunity for the team to heal some bumps and bruises suffered along the way, but the most important bye week boost comes in the former of starting right tackle Lane Johnson.

Johnson suffered a concussion in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. With the league now closely monitoring head injuries, Johnson was ruled out of the game almost immediately.

The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reports that Johnson sought him out to provide an update on his status. “I’ll be ready to go this week,” said Johnson.

Though he remains in the concussion protocol the hope is that he will be available to make his return with the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-4) coming into town on Sunday.

He was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice, but looked like he is on track to play while taking part in individual drills.

Ultimately, the decision will be left up to the team’s medical staff. However, Johnson’s return stands to solidify the best offensive line in football through seven weeks as they are set to face off against their in-state rivals.
