Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is taking the NFL by storm in his fourth season in the league.

Wilkins has been a force on the interior of the Dolphins’ defensive line since he was selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. However, Wilkins has made the jump from really good to elite in 2022.

Wilkins has made a habit out of embarrassing offensive lines throughout the season. His dominance has placed Wilkins at the forefront of the conversation for the best defensive tackle in football.

His 81 total tackles are the most of any defensive lineman in the game. Wilkins is also quickly emerging as one of the best run-stoppers currently playing.

In fact, there is a case to be made that he is the top run-stuffer in the NFL. Wilkins has totaled eight tackles for loss in his last seven games, propelling him to the top of the leaderboard in run-stop win rate (46%) among defensive tackles.

Not only does Wilkins overpower opposing offensive linemen with his rare strength, but he couples his power with range and athleticism. He possesses a variety of skills that aid him in slipping blocks and wreaking havoc in the backfield.

In today’s NFL, it’s critical for defenses to be strong up the middle. Neutralizing the run game often makes a difference in cold weather, giving the Dolphins an edge when the postseason rolls around.
