After the New Orleans Saints lost to the Arizona Cardinals last week, two stars stepped up.
Linebacker Demario Davis and running back Alvin Kamara addressed the team.
The Saints were lacking energy. They weren't locked in like they normally are, and the veterans knew it.
Now, fast forward a week.
The Saints just dismantled the Las Vegas Raiders in every facet of the game to secure a dominant 24-0 victory in Week 8. New Orleans sits at 3-5, in prime position to possibly take over the NFC South lead in the coming weeks.
The Raiders never really even got off the ground against the Saints. New Orleans played with an intensity all game long that we haven't seen from them this season.
The defense swarmed to ballcarriers. The defensive line dominated the Raiders' offensive line. Marcus Davenport, Payton Turner, and company had QB Derek Carr running for his life all game.
He was hurried on nearly one third of his drop backs.
Star WR Davante Adams had just one reception for three yards for the Raiders. Keep in mind that the Saints did not have top cornerback Marshon Lattimore today.
Of course, Alvin Kamara headlines today's win. The Saints' star RB had 158 total yards and three touchdowns. He looked extremely explosive and excited to make vital plays for the Saints.
Chris Olave continued his solid rookie campaign as Andy Dalton's safety valve as well.
Dalton was very efficient today, too. He completed 22 passes on 30 attempts for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
Overall, there weren't too many lows for the Saints today against the Raiders.
The players' meeting led by Kamara and Davis may have gotten this football team their swagger back.
