Broncos: Players are not losing hope on becoming a 'special team'

The Denver Broncos are one step away from being an elite team, and I think most people see it. This is the best the defense has been since 2015, in my opinion. This is the worst start to a season the offense has had since, I don't know when.
But, I think we can all agree, this team has so much potential.
While the team is 2-3, it feels as if the season is doomed. At least, that is the overall view of the season from the fans' perspective.
As for the team, they think they can still be great.
"Yeah, I mean, the defense is playing extraordinary," offensive lineman Dalton Risner said. "I think the defense has done a heck of a job this season, and I don't think anyone thinks anything other than that. I think it is pretty evident that the offense hasn't met the standards that we need to. So for us as players, the coaches can say they need to do things better but for us, as players, we know that we have to be better.
"We have to execute. The game of football is like a rollercoaster, it's not going to be perfect… As an offense it is frustrating. You take a lot of pride in this sport, take a lot of pride in this job… For us, as an offense, we know that we have to come together more than ever… We know that if we get our offense going and we can complement our defense, and the way that they are playing, we can be a special team."
It feels good to hear that this team hasn't lost hope in themselves, because we all see what they can be. This defense is already one of the best in the league, and the offense was talked up to be one of the best in the offseason.
We all understand what the issue is. It's the offense and coaching that are holding the team back. And, while it sounds easier than what it really is, if they can fix those two things, I think this team is a contender.
I think the team knows they can be that, too. Hopefully, on Monday Night Football we see a different team than the one we saw on Thursday Night Football.
