This one hurt.

The Buffalo Bills weren't able to pull off the fourth-quarter comeback against the division rival Dolphins.

Buffalo had not one, but two chances late in the game to take the lead but fell short.

A classic "butt punt" gave the Bills ample opportunity late in the game, giving Josh Allen and the Bills one final shot with a little over 1:37 left to play on the game clock.

The game ended when McKenzie couldn't find his way out of bounds and the clock struck 0:00.

Bills fans know all too well, this wasn't the first heartbreaking loss the team has endured.

Josh Allen is still really good at football

Josh Allen had yet another dominant performance against the Dolphins. The franchise quarterback has a history of elite performances against Miami, and today was no different.

Allen was able to make history, yet again.

Josh Allen finished his day in Miami going 42-63 with 400 yards and two touchdowns while adding eight carries for 47 yards on the ground.

More injury concerns

Unfortunately, Allen apparently dinged up his throwing hand on one of the last drives of the game.

Skipping the ball to McKenzie for what would have been an easy touchdown. Allen was visibly shaken up and frustrated after the play.

It's now been reported that Allen is getting x-rays done on his hand. This Bills team without Allen would be one-to-many injuries to overcome.

Allen was able to briefly discuss the apparent injury further.

Florida is really hot

Everyone and their mother got hurt in this game.

Before the matchup, the Bills and Dolphins announced a slew of injuries.

Throughout the matchup, the scorching Buffalo heat got the best of both teams.

Injuries during the game, whether the player remained out during the entirety or not, included: RG Ryan Bates, RT Spencer Brown, C Greg Van Roten, WR Jake Kumerow, and CB Christian Benford.

Diggs, McKenzie, Knox and Allen all were shaken up throughout the matchup.

Less than ideal, to say the least.

The depleted secondary was evident during a crucial third and 22 conversion for the Dolphins late in the third quarter.

With Hyde or Poyer, that completion doesn't happen.

Key miscues

The Buffalo Bills made their fair share of mistakes throughout the game, even without considering the injuries.

Matt Milano nearly had another pick-six but it fell through his hands, Allen bobbled a snap before the second half which resulted in zero points, and Tyler Bass missed a field goal.

There is a fair share of blame to go around for the entire team and this devastating last-second loss.

What's next?

The Bills need to rest up and get healthy. While the young secondary did their best to contain the Dolphins, they need some rest.

Buffalo will look to bounce back next week in a crucial matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

Getting everyone healthy will be the primary focus going into next week.

Clean up some of the issues, keep letting Josh Allen throw the football, and good things will happen.

We have plenty of football left in the season, time to bounce back.

Ken Dorsey did it best, we can all relate to how he was feeling immediately after the game.

Everyone needs a good laugh, especially after such a difficult loss.
