The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the hardest schedules in the league. We all know that. It was like that last season as well. That's what happens when you play the hardest division, twice per team.

The Chiefs have the fifth hardest schedule in the league, tied with the San Francisco 49ers, according to EDSFootball.com. Their opponent's combined record from last season comes out to 154-135. The Buccaneers, Bengals, Cardinals, and Rams are the teams above them.

It sucks when you have one of the tougher schedules in the league, but there is a new stat that further proves that point.

Chiefs are scheduled to face top players in the NFL

Around this time of the year, the NFL Top 100 list comes out, and recently they just announced who number one is. Yes, it was Tom Brady. Yes, Mahomes came in at 12, and yes that's way too low. That's a different discussion for a different day, though.

This year, Mahomes and the Chiefs will face five of the top seven players on the NFL's Top 100 list. Tom Brady, Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, Johnathan Taylor, and Davante Adams, twice, are the five.

The Chiefs will face Brady, the number one ranked player, in Week 4. In Week 12, they will face the Rams who have Donald at number two, Kupp at four, oh, and they have Jalen Ramsey at nine.

In Week 3, the Chiefs will play Johnathan Taylor, the fifth-ranked player, and the Colts, and in Weeks 5 and 18 they will play Davante Adams and the Raiders.

This schedule is super tough. Let's also not forget that they are also playing the 49ers, who will likely be contenders this season, the Chargers, twice, the Broncos, twice, the Titans, Bills, Cardinals, and Bengals as well.

This may be the toughest year for the Chiefs. They basically had to rebuild the offense around Mahomes and Travis Kelce, and they have one of the hardest schedules.

The Chiefs will likely be fine. Even last season when they struggled, they figured things out. There was a point in time in 2021 when everyone thought the Chiefs wouldn't make the playoffs. They proved everyone wrong with a fourth-straight AFC Championship game appearance.

Luckily, four of their opponents have a harder strength of schedule than Kansas City.
