There's no secret that the first big decision by the new front office and staff in Denver is not working out. The Broncos made a blockbuster deal for QB Russell Wilson.
That included their 2022 and 2023 first-round picks.
Now, at the bottom of their division twelve weeks in, the Broncos' future outlook looks scary on offense. They aren't alone, though.
Two other teams that are struggling do not have their first-round selection in 2023.
One of those teams is the Los Angeles Rams. Their 2023 first rounder was in their trade for Matthew Stafford.
Of course, Stafford led LA to a Super Bowl last year, so that helps ease the tension plenty for the Rams.
They are not a good team this year, though, and they will most likely finish in last place of their division, too.
The other team is the New Orleans Saints. They traded their 2023 first-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles before last year's NFL Draft.
They made two selections in the 2022 draft.
Now, the Saints currently sit in last place in a struggling NFC South. They still have a chance to dig out of it for a playoff berth, but it'll be difficult.
For the Broncos, that is not a reality. The Chiefs look to have the AFC West almost locked down already, and the Chargers are a wild card contender.
The Raiders have been a bumpy road as well, but they have shown more upside than the Broncos.
It has been a difficult year for the Broncos and their fans. more than one fan base is feeling their pain around the 2023 NFL Draft, though.
That probably doesn't help too much, but its the truth.
