The Kansas City Chiefs used to have some battles with the Denver Broncos, which is why they are such big rivals.

The battles have been crazy, but at the end of the day, it's just football. Both teams have a ton of respect for each other, and will always respect each other.

On Wednesday, a guy the Chiefs always went head to head with, retired as a Bronco. But he almost signed with the Chiefs before making that decision

"So I'm sitting there in the Kansas City Chiefs facility and I get that call… I remember Andy Reid had left and I'm sitting there, we were trying to work out the logistics because I wanted to sign a three-year and they wanted me to sign a four, and I told them no, I'm only signing a three," Emmanuel Sanders told the media at his retirement presser.

"So, Andy Reid leaves, he thinks I'm signing with the Chiefs. All of a sudden I get the call in the facility that I can go to Denver. So I tell them I'm going to Denver… So I remember trying to leave and I see Andys' car just flying down, he hopped out like what is going on. I don't want to go into too many crazy details but that's just how close it was."

It's crazy to think that Sanders was almost a receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. While that was in 2014 and means absolutely nothing now, it is still a cool story to hear.

It also shows how much time has somewhat changed. back then, that is how Denver and Kansas City were looked at. In the last few years, it has been almost the opposite.

Now people want to come to the Chiefs because they know they are guaranteed a shot at the Super Bowl.

Even though he is the enemy on the football field, even Chiefs fans should hope for nothing but the best for Sanders and his future endeavors.
