The New Orleans Saints have had a couple breakout rookies this season.
Wide receiver Chris Olave and defensive back Alontae Taylor have been really solid for New Orleans.
Olave was not their only first-round pick, though. Offensive tackle Trevor Penning was also selected in the first round by the Saints.
Unfortunately, he has not played this season due to injury. Penning suffered a foot injury during the preseason. The Saints' rookie had surgery and has been rehabbing to get back on the field.
Luckily, that time might be coming really soon for Penning.
New Orleans is planning to activate him from injured reserve this week, according to reports.
This is some huge news for the Saints and Penning. He's been chomping at the bit to get back on the field, so hopefully he will be able to soon.
For the Saints, their offensive line has been quite the rotation due to injuries.
It is possible that Penning sees consistent reps earlier than the Saints expected entering the season.
