Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier offered an update on a key player on Wednesday that was less than encouraging.
Frazier was asked about star cornerback Tre'Davious White and when he's expected to return to the field for the Bills.
White, a two-time Pro-Bowler who led the league in interceptions in 2019, is working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered on Thanksgiving Day last season against the New Orleans Saints.

Frazier admitted on Wednesday that Buffalo isn't sure when White will return, saying that he's crossing his fingers that the former LSU star can get back on the field soon.
That's not what you want to hear if you're a Bills fan. White is an incredibly important part of this defense. And if he's not on the field when the season starts — it's increasingly feeling like he won't be ready for the opener — then it's going to put a lot of pressure on Dane Jackson, Kaiir Elam and Christian Benford.
That's something that Frazier understands. He knows those players are going to face some growing pains due to things they'll see during the regular season that can't be simulated during practice.
White will eventually return to the field, but the Bills' secondary won't be at full strength until he's back. Buffalo should still be fine, but the first few weeks of the season could see the Bills' pass defense struggle if White isn't ready to go.
