This is something that has been talked about for quite some time now. The big question has always been, what will happen to the Kansas City Chiefs when Andy Reid retires?

We have always heard that the next man up would be Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator if he still didn't have his own head coaching gig by then. But now, there is some new information that would suggest otherwise.

The Chiefs lost last week to the Indianapolis Colts. I think we all know that by now. But something happened in that game that I think makes this question a little more relevant now.

In that game, just before the halftime break, we were able to see Patrick Mahomes and Bieniemy arguing on the sideline about the final play of the half. Then, the camera was able to show Reid pulling Mahomes away.

After the game, questions were asked, but we got the same answers we thought we would. Reid and Mahomes both said it wasn't an altercation, and it was just two competitive guys.

This is something we have never seen from the Chiefs before. Now, that begged the question if Bieniemy would be a good head coach for the Chiefs.

Recently, an NFL insider stated something that I don't think many people have thought about.

Let's take it back to this offseason. The Chiefs made a hire, one that you may or may not remember, and it was pretty important, too.

They hired one of their former employees, Matt Nagy, as a quarterbacks coach.

Nagy was in Chicago before coming back to the Chiefs, and we all know how things went there. If you don't, well, he got them to the playoffs once from 2018-2021. His coaching decisions often made zero sense, and he just wasn't doing what the organization expected him to do.

The NFL insider, according to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, predicted the Chiefs will make Nagy the successor, not Bieniemy.

"Matt is someone that Andy [Reid] has a lot of confidence in, and he's highly respected by the entire organization," the source said. "I could see this happening in a few more years. For now, Andy [Reid] is all in with what he's doing, and I don't foresee a change during the offseason."

Usually, when it's a source saying something like this, it's someone close to the organization or another front office member that has maybe heard something from someone else.

I think that this source can be trusted, however, I don't want to trust it. The Chiefs, in my opinion, should not make Nagy the head coach after Reid retires.

I think Nagy just isn't built to be a great head coach. Before he becomes a head coach again, I'd like to at least see him in a coordinator position again first. I don't want the man to jump straight from quarterbacks coach t head coach.

There is just a feeling about all this that doesn't feel right. This is one of the last things I would want if I was a Chiefs fan, and you guys shouldn't either.
