The Philadelphia Eagles (12-1) are flying high after a monumental win over the New York (7-5-1) Giants in Week 14. Not only did the Eagles secure its NFL best 12th win of the season, but two players secured single-season milestones along the way.
Philadelphia’s offense has been humming of late. The Birds have averaged 41 points per game over its last three contests. A large portion of those points can be attributed to the individual efforts from A.J. Brown and Miles Sanders.
Brown and Sanders have gone stride for stride all year long, so it’s only fitting that they cross the 1,000-yard mark on the same day.
Brown’s 70 yards and a touchdown on four receptions puts him at 1,020 receiving yards for the season. It’s the first time an Eagles receiver has surpassed 1,000 yards receiving since Jeremy Maclin did it in 2014.
It's the third time in Brown's career to make the 1,000-yard club.
Meanwhile, Sanders gashed the Giants defense all afternoon, accumulating 144 rushing yards and two scores on 17 carries. Sanders’ effort leaves him with 1,068 yards on the ground in 2022.
As for Sanders, he becomes the first Eagle to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing in a season since LeSean McCoy, who also hit the benchmark in the 2014 campaign. It's the first time in his four-year career to surpass the elusive 1,000-yard mark.
Franchise records are plenty of fun, but without a win they become difficult to celebrate. Fortunately for Eagles fans, the team has snapped all sorts of records this season while mowing down its opponents on a weekly basis.
