Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Peyton Manning has appeared on stage plenty of times with country singer Kenny Chesney.

Most of the appearances, at least over the last decade, have been highly publicized.

But before the advent of social media and camera phones, Manning actually used to join Chesney on the road sometimes during the NFL offseason.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback even joined Chesney on stage a few times, unbeknown to the audience, and pretend to play guitar as part of the band.

Chesney recently told the story of Manning's "touring days" on the La Batard and Friends podcast.

The East Tennessee native, who said he met Manning when he was a junior at UT, also said he used to offer to catch passes from the legendary quarterback (as part of his offseason routine).

Manning, unsurprisingly, declined Chesney's offer to throw, which was probably a wise choice.

Check out the story from Chesney.
