NFL executive gives description of Titans that sounds like an insult but is really a compliment

The Tennessee Titans have had a relatively quiet offseason.
Tennessee re-signed edge rusher Harold Landry this offseason and they traded for wide receiver Robert Woods. Those were essentially the Titans' "big moves" (along with releasing wide receiver Julio Jones).
The Titans, however, didn't really need to make any splash moves. Tennessee already has a Super Bowl-caliber roster. They just needed to bring Landry back and add a few complementary pieces to the roster.
Mission accomplished.
Tennessee's lack of big moves, though, made for an uninteresting offseason for the Titans (aside from those crazy AJ Brown trade rumors).

"Not interesting" is exactly how an anonymous NFL executive described the Titans to The Athletic this week. That may sound like an insult, but it was actually a compliment.
"They are not interesting," said the NFL executive. "They just play football. Does that make sense? That’s what they do. Some teams win the offseason and finish third in their division. Who cares?”
I think this is one of the best compliments the Titans could receive from an opposing NFL executive.
The Titans don't get involved with a lot of drama. They don't tend to create headlines with their roster decisions. They simply build a solid roster, work hard, and win the AFC South (at least they have the last two years).
"Not interesting" is a good thing when it comes to an NFL franchise. It really doesn't matter what the media says or if NFL Network/ESPN talks about the Titans. All matters is the win/loss record.
And over the last six years, the win/loss record has been pretty good — Tennessee hasn't had a losing season since 2015. The Titans' six straight seasons without a losing record is the third-longest active streak in the NFL (Pittsburgh Steelers are No. 1 at 18 seasons and the Kansas City Chiefs are No. 2 at 9 seasons).
The Titans might be boring. And they might be quiet during the offseason to the point where the national media barely remembers they're in the NFL. But they win games. And ultimately, that's what fans care about.
