On Saturday, the Vols made up for the loss of McDaniel by getting a commitment from four-star defensive back Doneiko Slaughter, who recently decommitted from Arizona State.

Slaugher, 6-foot/180 lbs from Roswell, GA, is rated by Rivals as the No. 27 safety in the nation.

Slaughter told Rivals that he committed to Tennessee because of the impact of Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt and defensive coordinator/secondary coach Derrick Ansley. Tennessee's newest commit also said that senior defensive back Nigel Warrior raved about how he developed under Pruitt and his staff.

The Georgia native mentioned that staying close to home was also a factor in his decision.

Tennessee currently has 18 commits to their 2020 recruiting class.
