According a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Tennessee Titans have interest in free agent wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
Nelson, who was released by the Green Bay Packers last off-season after ten seasons with the franchise, is coming off a modestly successful season with the Oakland Raiders.
In 15 games with the Raiders last year, Nelson caught 63 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns.
The soon-to-be 34 year old wide receiver is two seasons removed from a season that saw him catch 97 passes for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Would it be beneficial for the Titans to sign Nelson?
Adding a veteran like Nelson could be a good thing for the Titans. He'd certainly help to enhance the winning culture that Tennessee is trying to build. And his experience playing with a future hall of fame quarterback could absolutely help Marcus Mariota's continued development.
But the Titans already have a slot receiver in the recently signed Adam Humphries. And at this point in his career, Nelson is not a candidate to play on the outside.
Tennessee still needs to find an outside wide receiver to pair with Corey Davis. That might mean signing a veteran or drafting someone. Either way, I don't think Nelson would necessarily be the best fit for the Titans.
