Chiefs biggest deficiency in 2022 is something they have total control over

The Kansas City Chiefs aren't as hyped up this season as they have been the last few years, but, the expectations are still there. People expect this team to win, as they should. They expect the Kansas City Chiefs to be in the AFC Championship every single year, now.
Usually, it's always the defense that keeps the Chiefs from winning the Super Bowl. In the AFC Championship in 2018, the Chiefs could not stop the run against the New England Patriots.
This year, the defense will be better than in the past. I strongly feel like they won't be the reason the Chiefs are losing any big games.
Their one deficiency in 2022 is actually something that has to do with the offensive end.
Chiefs' offense needs to hit the ground running, literally
When you look back in the Mahomes era, when has the run game ever been dominant? Never. One thing that really irks me is the notion that Jamaal Charles playing with Mahomes would have been awesome.
However, here is the deal with that, and why it wouldn't have been good.
The Chiefs don't run the ball now, and they definitely wouldn't then. And that is the one deficiency for the Chiefs in 2022.
The offense has a lot of potential to be great in 2022, and they could, in fact, be the very reason the Chiefs have success this season. It could also be the very reason the Chiefs struggle this year.
The running game needs to be better. Over the years, the running game has been putrid, to say the least. If this team wants to be better for a longer period of time, they need to do more things on the ground.
I'm not saying they need to be the best or anything like that. However, their offense on the ground does need to be serviceable.
If they continue to play the way they do, the rest of the league will catch up to them. Not to mention, running the ball more would set up better opportunities for shots down the field later on.
The Chiefs need to utilize their first-round pick from three years ago in Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He is a great running back who runs with power and speed. Not to mention the Chiefs' offensive line is made to run the ball
They are going to need to change it up soon, if not, it could cost them. You can't continue to throw the ball 30 times a game, every game, and not run the ball and expect the defense not to know what you're doing.
In 2022, the Chiefs running game is their biggest deficiency.
