The Denver Broncos have one of the best defenses in football. I would say they have the best but they are on the field way too much because of how bad the offense is.
Even after the trade that sent Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins for a few picks, the Broncos still will have an elite defense.
Yeah, they have great depth that was playing behind Chubb, but that isn't the only reason why.
The pass rush will still be elite, and part of it is due to who they just got back in one of the trade deadline trades.
You may remember, but the Broncos made another trade after the Chubb deal. They traded for Jacob Martin, an outside linebacker that was playing for the New York Jets.
Martin is a guy that a lot of casual fans don't know about. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a ton of Broncos fans didn't know about him, and they just played the Jets a few weeks ago.
When you look at one particular stat that helps decide who some of the best pass-rushers in the league are, you will find two Broncos players in the top 10.
Martin is one of those guys.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Baron Browning has the fourth-highest quarterback pressure rate in the NFL at 18.5%, and Martin has the eighth-highest at 16.7%.
Martin may only have 15 sacks in five years, but the potential is right there. He hasn't been on many great defenses during his time in the NFL, and maybe this could be the way he breaks out.
Oh, and, he is only 26 years old.
