Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been connected to the Pittsburgh Steelers the last couple of days — mostly because of a Shaun King tweet that went viral this week.

Daniel Jeremiah, though, cleared up some of the rumors on Friday, saying he expects Watson to land with the Seattle Seahawks.

But you know how rumors go — they don't die easy. And until Watson is traded somewhere (assuming someone will pay the Texans' insanely high asking price), the rumors will persist. And the Steelers will continue to be mentioned in those rumors, simply because they're in need of a quarterback.

However, if you're a Steelers fan who wants Watson and you're holding out hope, well I've got some bad news for you. There's even more evidence that surfaced on Friday night that suggests the Steelers aren't participating in the Watson sweepstakes.

NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, a former Houston Texans beat writer, tweeted on Friday night that league sources are telling him the Steelers aren't pursuing Watson. Wilson is well connected in Houston. I'd say he has a good grasp on who the Texans are talking to and who they aren't talking to.

Ultimately, this probably isn't a bad thing for Pittsburgh. The franchise doesn't need to give up a ton of draft capital for a player who hasn't played in over a year and could be suspended next season for a few games. That's not the Steelers' style, anyway.
