Last week, a ridiculous rumor emerged that suggested that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was trying to engineer a deal to land with the Miami Dolphins.
That's obviously an insane rumor that has little to no truth attached to it.
On Monday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the Brady rumor at the NFL owners meetings in Florida.
And McDaniel left no doubt that Brady to Miami is nothing more than fan fiction.
McDaniel called the speculation "fake news".
I love McDaniel's candidness in this answer. He acts shocked that Miami is even involved in a Tom Brady-related rumor.
McDaniel didn't need to come out and shut this rumor down — no one believed it had any merit. But good on him for doing it anyway. It's refreshing to hear head coaches who eschew coach speak in favor of realness.
As for Brady, the idea that he'd want to unretire and then force a trade to the Dolphins was never even remotely believable.
