The Kansas City Chiefs traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this week to the Miami Dolphins for draft picks (including the No. 29 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft).

Kansas City chose to trade Hill due to the speedy wide receiver wanting a new contract that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the league. The Chiefs made the choice to trade Hill now while his value is at its highest, instead of waiting until after the 2022 season.

As a result of the trade, the Chiefs have a massive hole at the wide receiver position.

Kansas City signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Thursday to help fill the void left behind by Hill.

The Chiefs, however, are still expected to pursue a wide receiver in the early part of the 2022 NFL Draft.

According to ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller, the most likely scenario for the Chiefs might be trading up in the draft to land a wide receiver.

Kansas City has the No. 29 and No. 30 overall picks in the draft. That would be a high price to pay to move up to get a wide receiver — especially when players like Treylon Burks, George Pickens, or Christian Watson could fall to the end of the first round.

One other thing that Miller noted is that Kansas City is seeking to be more "well-rounded" at the wide receiver position. So it sounds like the Chiefs' focus will be on drafting a more complete wide receiver.

If the Chiefs decide to trade up, then Ohio State's Garrett Wilson could be a name to watch.
