I'm not really sure why people continue to doubt Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

But for some reason they do.

The latest Mahomes disrespect comes from FanDuel's AFC quarterback power rankings.

I always assume that Mahomes is going to be No. 1 on every AFC quarterback power rankings list I see.

But that's not the case.

Mahomes came in at No. 2 in FanDuel's rankings, behind Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen is an incredible quarterback who will probably win an NFL MVP award at some point. I don't want to take anything away from him at all.

But he's not Mahomes.

Mahomes has already won an NFL MVP award. He's also won a Super Bowl and been named a Super Bowl MVP. And he's only 26 (Allen is 25).

Allen's best season came in 2020 when he passed for 4,544 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 421 yards and eight touchdowns that season (Allen's best season running the ball came in 2021 when he rushed for 763 yards and six touchdowns).

Mahomes' best season, on the other hand, came in 2018 when he passed for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions (Mahomes rushed for 272 yards and two touchdowns that season).

This past season, Mahomes was also better than Allen's best season ever (Mahomes had over 4,800 passing yards and 37 touchdowns).

What are folks seeing in Allen that has them believing he's a better quarterback than Mahomes?

Because nothing we've seen on the field indicates that Allen is better than Mahomes.

I'm sure Mahomes will once again prove this season that he's the best quarterback in the AFC. It's what he does every year at this point.
