The Denver Broncos selected Nik Bonitto in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. It looks like they may have gotten some good value for an impact rusher. Bonitto showed impressive flashes at Oklahoma, and those have transitioned well to the NFL game so far. Now, it's only been the preseason, but his dominance is something to keep in the back of your mind.
He plays with very impressive athleticism for his size. His pass-rush skills are clear when he's on the field for the Broncos. Bonitto consistently wins pass-rush reps and gets pressure on the quarterback. His hand usage is very impressive, and his traits allow him to be moved around pretty often. Offensive lines have to account for him across the board.
His play in the run game needs some work, but the Broncos can certainly work with him there. For now, his role as a designated pass rusher seems to be suiting him and the team well. He's made a handful of explosive plays throughout training camp and the preseason.
Going forward, a rotation of Bonitto, Bradley Chubb, Randy Gregory, and Baron Browning could make a lot of plays for the Broncos.
