Bills guard Dawkins expresses his utter dislike for Jets players who are trying to be "cool"
For a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in over a dozen years, the Jets are certainly on everyone’s mind for some reason. The New York Jets are team beloved by their fan base, but for an odd reason they are genuinely hated amongst other NFL fan bases despite the fact that they have never […]
For a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in over a dozen years, the Jets are certainly on everyone’s mind for some reason.
The New York Jets are team beloved by their fan base, but for an odd reason they are genuinely hated amongst other NFL fan bases despite the fact that they have never really threatened to win anything since 2010.
And that hatred extends beyond the stands and carries over on to the field where players have an issue with the Jets.
Speaking on VladTV, Buffalo Bills guard Dion Dawkins was quick to talk about how much he hates the Jets, particularly those on the defense. There was an incident this year between Dion and Jets defensive lineman Micheal Clemons, which carried over into the tunnel after the game.
Dawkins did not sugar coat his feelings on the Jets, going as far as saying that they play the game to “look cool” and “for the pictures”.
That isn’t some inter-divisional rivalry talk. That’s genuine dislike and possibly hatred spewing from Dawkins’ mouth.
Dawkins comments drew the attention of Jets star cornerback Sauce Gardner who countered with this on X.
Dawkins, speaking out of line and coming from a place of pure self-importance, is obviously riding high after his team yet again fell short of expectations for the 50th year in a row. Because of his frustrations for failing to do what so many believe they should have done (win the Super Bowl), Dawkins punched down.
The Jets are an easy target and I’m sure this will stick in their craw. I’m sure the Jets will be happy for the bulletin board material and I’m sure this will get brought up again before the two teams square off next season.
Clemons is an overly intense guy and I’m sure he will have the Bills matchups circled next year.
Sauce’s original response which he later deleted was far more comical saying “He gon' say we be trynna be cool, but went on Vlad and don't have a shirt on” followed by about 20 laughing crying emojis.
Allow me to add on to Sauce’ original statement. If Dion is playing the game because he would “die by it,” and the Jets are just trying to look cool for the pictures, I wonder if he could explain his actions here.
That looks more like someone who is trying to look cool than play because he loves the game. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with a player giving it to another one after thoroughly destroying them on the field, but then don’t be so hypocritical as to say an entire team is doing exactly what you just did.
With your shirt off no less.
Jets need to avoid past mistakes at the NFL Scouting Combine that lead to poor choices
This is one of the most important weeks of the NFL off season, but for the smarter teams, it is just another week in a long off season of gather information. The NFL combine is set to begin this week in Indianapolis. 321 football players will gather at Lucas Oil Stadium in hopes of impressing […]
