The Baltimore Ravens have handed Chris Hewitt the title of assistant head coach, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Ravens had been on the lookout for a new assistant head coach ever since Anthony Weaver agreed to fill the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator position earlier this month. Weaver served as assistant head coach for the Ravens over the last two years.
Hewitt has been with the Ravens dating back to the 2012 season when he was hired to become their new assistant special teams coach. Hewitt has since taken on multiple coaching roles with Baltimore, including serving as its pass game coordinator and secondary coach since the 2022 season. He has helped to get the best out of the likes of Kyle Hamilton and Geno Stone.
Rapoport also noted that Hewitt will continue to serve as Baltimore's pass game coordinator and secondary coach.
The Ravens are not done yet in filling out their coaching staff. For one, Baltimore is still looking to find a new defensive line coach. Weaver held this position over the past three seasons.
