Marlon Humphrey recalls Kyle Hamilton’s cold-blooded reaction to seeing a QB change in the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 5 win over Falcons
The Baltimore Ravens’ overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons ended with a big play from Kyle Hamilton. He knew his moment was coming.
The Baltimore Ravens survived another contest without QB Lamar Jackson in the lineup, thanks in large part to their defense buckling down when it mattered most. But, according to one defender, the Ravens knew their moment had arrived to seal the game in Week 5 against the Falcons.
Cornerback Marlon Humphrey recalled an absolutely cold-blooded response from star safety Kyle Hamilton when the Falcons turned to backup QB Tua Tagovailoa. And, sure enough, Hamilton made the play to win the game, intercepting Tagovailoa in overtime to seal the win.
Kyle Hamilton was beyond excited to see Tua Tagovailoa in the game for the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 5 win
“Kyle was like, ‘Tua in the game!’. Like he knew he was going to get a pick. He literally was like ‘oh he finna throw me one.’ He was so excited. It was the most excited I’ve probably seen Kyle. ‘Hey, Tua in the game!’…I don’t know if he knew something I didn’t know but boy he basically knew he was finna get a pick.”

Oof. Tough scenes for Tagovailoa, who entered this offseason in the assumed driver’s seat to serve as Atlanta’s starting quarterback. The history between the Ravens and Tagovailoa has been kind over the past few years. The lone exception being a 21-point blown fourth quarter lead for Baltimore back in 2022. But in the years since? Baltimore has had their way with the former 5th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, including a smothering performance in 2025 when the Ravens visited Miami. They may not get another opportunity any time soon. Tagovailoa’s status as a playable quarterback is dwindling fast. Good thing the Ravens made this last run-in count.
