The Tennessee Vols swiped a coach from the Alabama Crimson Tide, one of UT's top SEC rivals, on Monday.

According to a report from VolQuest, Tennessee is hiring William Inge to serve as the program's new linebackers coach, replacing Brian Jean-Mary (who left for Michigan).

Inge served as Washington's co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach for the last two seasons.

It was reported earlier this month that Inge was following Kalen DeBoer to Alabama. Football Scoop reported on February 5 that Inge was joining Alabama's staff. He initially wanted to stay at Washington after DeBoer's departure, before eventually taking the job at Alabama.

But it appears he changed his mind and he's opting to join Josh Heupel's staff at Tennessee instead.

Inge, who played college football at Iowa, has also coached at Indiana, Buffalo, Cincinnati, San Diego State, and Colorado. He also spent a year in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills as an assistant defensive line coach. Inge played one season in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans.

Earlier on Monday, Tennessee hired Cincinnati running backs coach De'Rail Sims to replace Jerry Mack.
