San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy continues to shock the NFL at how humble he is.
Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night in Las Vegas, Purdy was asked about playing in his first-ever Super Bowl and his response was priceless.
"I mean, the bottom line is life isn't about you — that's what I believe, you know," Purdy said humbly. "[It's about] being a part of something bigger than yourself. You get wrapped up in getting all the glory and the fame and the status, I feel like that's a shallow life. And that can fade away pretty quickly.
"So for me, obviously we're playing in the Super Bowl and I'm very honored and thankful. I want to win a championship for this organization, but more than anything I'm trying to serve my guys on this team well, and love on them well, and the whole organization and everyone in my life. That's how I view it."
Purdy's mom is even amazed at his humble approach to life, though she played a major role in how he turned out.
"It's amazing," Carrie Purdy said of her son following the 49ers' NFC Championship win. "He just turned 24 years old and you know what, not because he's mine, but he's a humble, down-to-earth, kind person. He loves the lord, he loves the fans, he loves his coaches. He's just this great kid that loves everybody around him."
It's hard not to root for a player like Purdy unless, of course, you're a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan.
