This time last year, the Philadelphia Eagles were getting ready to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Now, the San Francisco 49ers are in Las Vegas preparing to take on the reigning champs in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday.

Despite not being there, the Eagles are still a hot topic because of their NFC rivalry with the Niners.

But if you ask San Francisco star wide receiver, Deebo Samuel, that rivalry doesn't exist.

"I consider rivalries close games," Samuel told EJ Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer during Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night. "We ain’t going to talk about that no more. That’s over with.”

Samuel's savage jab was referring to when the Niners took down the Birds 42-19 in Week 13 of the 2023 regular season.

Well, that's funny considering Deebo and the 49ers dropped their last game, which was the NFC Championship, against the Eagles 31-7.

That's also a bold response for someone who doesn't have a Super Bowl ring.

But Samuel is known for running his mouth and he did the same last February when he called James Bradberry "trash," as Smith pointed out in his article.

We'll see if the Chiefs can shut him up on Sunday night.
