Continuing to evolve your offense is important in the NFL so that you do not get left behind.
This goes for your personnel, play calling, as well as other variables. For the Cleveland Browns, the wide receiver position is somewhere they need to keep churning at in the future.
Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Cedric Tillman, and David Bell are likely on the team at receiver in 2023. Cleveland is going to add at least two wideouts between the draft and free agency, you can book that.
In A to Z Sports very own Travis May’s recent mock draft that extends two rounds, he has the Browns selecting a speedster from the West Coast.
Round 2, Pick 55 WR Jalen McMillan (Washington):
Washington had multiple gamers within their passing attack in 2023. As a redshirt junior, McMillan totaled 559 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 11 games. He was the team’s fourth-leading receiver.
A year prior, McMillan had 1,098 yards and nine touchdowns for the Huskies. His first impact came as a redshirt freshman with 470 yards and three scores.
At 6-foot-1, McMillan is an explosive athlete who can beat teams vertically in the passing game. That is something that the Browns could use is more aggressiveness vertically.
The 22-year-old would give Cleveland a fluid route runner that can really hurt teams after the catch. Another player that can hurt teams with the ball in his hands would be huge.
If the Browns walked away with McMillan in the second round, it would be a fine pick that has some good upside to it. When you don’t have a first-rounder, finding upside is a plus.
