The Tennessee Vols are reportedly losing an off-field assistant that's quickly climbing the coaching ranks.

Football Scoop's John Brice reported on Thursday morning that Tennessee offensive analyst Kody Cook is leaving Rocky Top to become the new wide receivers coach at Old Dominion.

Cook, who played college football at Kansas State, served as the wide receivers coach at Hutchinson Community College in 2021 before joining Josh Heupel's staff as a graduate assistant ahead of the 2022 season.

Before Cook played at Kansas State, he spent two years at Hutchinson as a player. In his first year at Hutchinson (2011) he was teammates with Cordarrelle Patterson, who transferred from Hutchinson to Tennessee after the 2011 season.

Cook will be a name to keep an eye on in the future when the Vols have staff openings on the offensive side of the ball.
