The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine will start next week, but one big name officially won't be testing.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Iowa CB Cooper DeJean will not test at the Scouting Combine due to the leg injury he suffered late during the college season.

DeJean is a player you will likely see in most NFL Draft analysts' first-round mock drafts; I've seen him go as high as 11 to the Minnesota Vikings. DeJean is a versatile defensive back who can play outside and in the slot as a corner. And some around the NFL think he would be best suited as a safety at the pro level.

He is a dynamic athlete, and many were excited to see him put on a show at the combine. But fans and NFL teams will have to wait until at least his Pro Day at Iowa to see how he will test. With the top spot at CB very much up for grabs, his inability to test at the combine could hurt any chance he had at earning that honor.
