One of the more intriguing prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft is Iowa CB Cooper DeJean.
Showing the prowess to be a true NFL corner while displaying versatility as a returner, teams are going to covet his services.
But following a report from Dane Brugler of The Athletic, the world will have to wait on DeJean's exposure during the pre-draft process:
Cooper DeJean Out of NFL Scouting Combine
Sources: Iowa CB Cooper DeJean won't test at next week's Scouting Combine as he works his way back from his late-season leg injury (which is a bummer because he's one of the freakiest guys in the draft). DeJean plans to work out for NFL teams closer to draft weekend. -Dane Brugler, The Athletic
By all accounts, DeJean was going to light up Indianapolis if he was healthy, easily being one of the better testing players regardless of position. Pair that with his 6-1 and over 200-pound frame, and you can see why his current projection places him in the first round.
And while missing the NFL Scouting Combine is likely the last thing DeJean wanted, it may play right into Pittsburgh's hands.
That's because this year's corners group is stacked, meaning a slight deviation here or there could have teams favoring other corners ahead of Pittsburgh's 20th overall pick, allowing DeJean to fall right into their lap due to no fault of his own.
