The NFL is absolutely stacked full of former Alabama stars. Every single offseason there are several former Crimson Tide stars up for new NFL contracts when free agency begins. This year's list is even more star studded than usual.

Contract negotiations can begin between players and teams on Monday March 11th at 12pm ET during the "legal tampering" period. Any new contracts agreed upon during that window can be officially be signed just over two days later on Wednesday March 13th at 4 p.m. ET.

Below is a list of the eight most notable former Alabama Crimson Tide stars to watch for during NFL free agency as they are set to sign their next contracts.

Top Former Alabama Free Agents

  • A'Shawn Robinson, DL New York Giants
  • Anfernee Jennings, EDGE New England Patriots
  • Calvin Ridley, WR Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Derrick Henry, RB Tennessee Titans
  • Jonah Williams, OT Cincinnati Bengals
  • Josh Jacobs, RB Las Vegas Raiders
  • Raekwon Davis, DL Miami Dolphins
  • Xavier McKinney, S New York Giants

It's quite strange realizing that it's already been nearly a decade since Derrick Henry, Calvin Ridley, and A'Shawn Robinson led Alabama to a national championship together. That was 2015, Henry's Heisman campaign where he rushed for over 2200 yards in just 15 games. All three shouldn't have any troubles securing a new contract, but it will certainly be shorter term deals.

All five of the other former Alabama free agents on this list are a bit younger and could potentially earn long term deals in the coming weeks.

We should expect some of the new deals and details to begin leaking to the public on that Monday the 11th, but a couple of the older players may take their time to try and find the right fit to finish their careers out well.

The Crimson Tide always make their presence felt with every free agency cycle. This year is clearly no exception.
