The list of potential replacements for Nick Saban at Alabama is thinning.

On Thursday, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning announced that he's sticking around in Eugene amid speculation that he could replace Saban in Tuscaloosa.

On Friday morning, another big name took himself out the running.

Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian, a former assistant under Saban at Alabama, took to social media to announce that he's staying in Austin.

It wouldn't have made much sense for Sarkisian to jump from Texas to Alabama. He'd be good option to replace Saban, but he's got a good thing going at Texas. And the Longhorns have all the resources that a coach needs to be successful in college football. Staying put at Texas instead of attempting to replace arguably the greatest college football coach of all time seems like an easy decision. And it appears that it was for Sark.

Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer, fresh off an appearance in the College Football Playoff championship game, is considered one of the top potential options to replace Saban.

DeBoer postponed a planned interview on a Washington radio station on Friday morning, fueling speculation that he could be a top candidate at Alabama.
